How Helping My Sister Pack for UK Made Me Realize the Magic of Hemp Oil
Every time someone says “UK,” I think of grey skies, dry heating, and the kind of cold that leaves your skin begging for moisture.
My sister moved there a while ago, and when she visited India about 6–7 months back, we spent a few late nights catching up, cooking, and of course—packing for her trip back.
Warm coats? Check. Wool socks? Check. Moisturizer? Obvious. But then, just before zipping her suitcase, I handed her a small glass bottle of something most people still raise eyebrows at: our Hemp Seed Oil-based after-bath oil.
She looked curious.
“This is not for getting high,” I smiled. “It’s for your skin.”
You see, the word “cannabis” still sets off alarm bells for many—but this oil comes from the hemp variety of the Cannabis sativa plant. That means zero THC, no psychoactive effects, and absolutely no haze. Just plant-based nourishment that works like magic in dry, cold weather to hot & humid weather conditions. It is as innocent as any other oils like coconut, sesame, and avocado oils, etc.
Now, my sister is in the tech industry—she’s always busy running errands for her family. So like many, she didn’t know that hemp seed oil is rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6, making it one of the most effective natural moisturisers, especially for the cold, dry climate in the UK.
She also has naturally oily skin, and was a little skeptical about using an oil-based product right after a shower. “Won’t this make me feel greasy?” she asked. But to her surprise, it absorbed quickly, felt light, and didn’t leave any sticky residue behind.
When she called a few weeks later, she told me something that stayed with me:
“Every single day after my shower, I used that oil. Not once did my skin crack.”
That’s when it really hit me—you don’t have to be a cannabis enthusiast to benefit from hemp. You just need to know the difference. Hemp seed oil is vegan, eco-friendly, cold-pressed, and non-psychoactive. And beyond your skin, it's kinder to the planet too.
Hemp requires 50% less water than cotton, grows without pesticides, and is a zero-waste crop—a rare gem in today’s beauty industry that still pushes synthetic, chemical-laced formulas in fancy bottles.
So while some still associate cannabis with confusion, others are quietly rediscovering it—through after-bath oils, balms, shampoos, and serums made from its nutri
